<p>Sickness has been the unwelcome guest at our abode this past week. And no matter what I do, she seems adamant and wants to stay. I never get sick, but just a few months after I decide to become an entrepreneur, I land into this!</p>
<p>I really cannot afford to get sick. Well, the truth is that I could not get afford to get sick even if I was not an entrepreneur, really. I have kids that depend on me. But with so much to do besides taking care of kids, I am starting to think I might have to make not-getting-sick a priority. Wanting to be an entrepreneur seems to be reason enough to get fit. So you heard it here first:</p>
<blockquote>
<h3><strong>Want to be an entrepreneur? Get fit first . REALLY fit. BEFORE you get into this whole business of working for yourself.</strong></h3>
</blockquote>
<p><strong>And some more advice &#8211; Things to do before you get sick</strong></p>
<p>1. Have health insurance figured out</p>
<p><a href="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/insured.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-385" title="insured" src="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/insured.jpeg" alt="" width="500" height="230" /></a></p>
<p>2. Have a back-up plan</p>
<p><a href="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/backup.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-386" title="backup" src="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/backup.jpeg" alt="" width="500" height="276" /></a></p>
<p>3. Take your vitamins</p>
<p><a href="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/vitamins.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-388" title="vitamins" src="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/vitamins.jpeg" alt="" width="500" height="278" /></a></p>
<p>4. Make fitness  a priority</p>
<p><strong>Once you get sick</strong></p>
<p>1. Nap</p>
<p>2. If you suffer from the same syndrome that everyone else does, just go to work</p>
<p><a href="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/entrep1.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-389" title="entrep1" src="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/entrep1.jpeg" alt="" width="499" height="270" /></a></p>
<p>3. Take some time off and <a href="http://www.twitter.com" target="_blank">tweet</a> about it.</p>
<p>You will meet some magical people out there &#8211; who will care and share. Learn, read, relax and use your sickness as a reason to make a couple of real connections, have some good conversations. Like I did. Or write a haiku!</p>
<p><a href="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/haiku.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-390" title="haiku" src="http://geekdance.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/haiku.jpeg" alt="" width="500" height="221" /></a></p>
<p>Okay, now I&#8217;ve had enough fun to last me the next 2 weeks &#8211; I should get back to work!<br />
